You can spend your entire day surrounded by people and still have nobody to talk to about teaching.
Your students aren’t your colleagues. And there are plenty of things that happen in the course of teaching that simply aren’t appropriate to process with them.
Even if you teach at a studio, you may barely cross paths with another teacher. You teach your class, they teach theirs, and everyone moves on with their day.
And the people in your life may love you dearly—but sometimes you get two minutes into a conversation about a cue that completely bombed, the student interaction you’re still thinking about, or something weird that happened in class...
…and you can practically watch their eyes glaze over. 😂

To ask the question you’ve been turning over in your head. To talk through the class that didn’t go the way you expected. To share what’s working, wrestle with what isn’t, learn from one another, and occasionally say, “What in the world do I do with THIS?” 😂
